About the set:
I am currently studying about surround sound, binaural and spacial sound and spend a lot of time reading and taking notes during the days and weeks. This mix is meant to give you a) an idea about spacial sound. I included a demo sound at the beginning and end of the set from a
young project in 2002 / 2003 Olivier Warusfel from the Room Acoustic Team at the ICRAM in Paris. These topics are in the center of my interest and when you wear headphones and close your eyes you’ll hear the magic (here to read more: http://recherche.ircam.fr/equipes/salles/listen/index.html)
The music in the mixtape is a selection that is good to listen to while studying. It has some wide electronic productions as well as more punchy techno at the end to hold through.

Bio
Driven by the forces of music, sound and curation, S(GBA) —short for Steve (German By Accident)— believes in music as the key to perpetual wonder and soulful expansion. Her musical project is both culmination and ongoing discovery: as a cultural producer and collector of music, spoken word, literature, sound-design, field recordings and storytelling, each of S(GBA)’s works are maps to intimate journeys where worlds meet, collide and reconcile. S(GBA) is also inspired and informed by multiple locations which include Berlin where she worked for Geist Agency, Artist Alife. She then moved to Mexico City where she produced Boiler Room events across Latin America, was involved in planning Comunité Festival and co-produced the program for Yu Yu Club as part of the founding team and worked with DJ Stingray. Currently working on a Bachelor of the Arts in Audio Engineering in Frankfurt, each of the steps are representing a crucial figure in her own creative development.
In another light, S(GBA) has done extensive work in the music business for the past nine years. Striving towards the amplification of current messages within her environment, she founded Endémico, a creative agency focused on Latin American talent, and most recently the platform and magazine NSNS, which explores arts, culture and music across various latitudes with a special emphasis on Latin America. Through NSNS, S(GBA) also consolidated the project CIRCA, a weekly radio program in collaboration with Rinse France highlighting Latin musical artists and creatives. Both Endémico and NSNS are a pristine reflection of S(GBA)’s professional and artistic ethos: to find a common vein, a meeting point for the never ending potentialities of life through music.
